About the World

The world, according to legend, is formed around the base of a giant tree, with the middle world sprawling around the base of the trunk to the coasts. From there, the sea stretches to the edge of the world. Beneath the middle world, the nether world lies among the roots, home to snakes, bats and bugs. High above, the upper world rests in the branches of the tree, the origin of all life.

About Keshen

The valley of Keshen (or Lekhosha in the Mitzian language), is a large basin on the coast of the world. It is inhabited by countless animals, plants and humans/humanoid creatures. The valley is surrounded on all sides by high mountains, with the Havaz range to the east, the Meraga range and highlands to the north, and the Hegyem range to the west.

The Mitzianga

The Mitzianga are an ethnoreligious group centered around their worship of a single deity, who goes by many names. Forty years before their entry into Keshen, their civilization collapsed due to corruption and constant warring. Now their numbers are small but loyal to their leaders: the grand prince and the high priest.

The Önyösöm

/ˈø.ɲø.søm/ singular Önyös

The Önyösöm are a culture made up of giants and non-giants that live in the west of Keshen, within the Gyaz /ɟaz/ forest. They preside over an era of peace in the valley, though other beings in their lands are plotting against them.

The Ekega Kishi/The Etaenarga

/ˈe.ke.ga ˈki.ʃi/, /e.t̪aˈe.nar.ga/, singular eka kishi, etaenara

While the Mitzianga reside in their settlement in Merenga, a few people of the culture are either banished or leave of their own accord. For this, they are often referred to as ekega kishi or “the unfaithful ones.” They sometimes refer to themselves as “etaenarga,” though they still consider themselves a part of the Mitzian tribe.
